We are so glad to announce the second edition of the Akukom competitions. Our first edition, Akukom Story writing competition(ASWC1) was amazing with Monkey Tail by Luper and Ungagged by Amaka Okoli  emerging the Judges’ and people’s winners respectively.

Akukom Written Poetry Competition (AWPC) promises to be interesting and the theme is “NIGERIA TODAY AND DEMOCRACY”.

Below are the details of the competition.

THEME: Nigeria today and democracy(You can use any title for your poem. The theme is what matters)

DATE: 28th of April-26th of May, 2019

PRIZE: N10,000 and a “Creative” T-shirt to 2 winners

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

  1. Log in/Register on www.akukom.com
  2. Publish your Poem (For how to publish on Akukom, CLICK HERE)
  3. Add “AWPC” to the TAG

FIRST ROUND (28th April-12th May, 2019)

Top 10 Poems with the highest Likes and Comments on www.akukom.com will qualify for the Final Round

FINAL ROUND(12th-26th May, 2019)

The Top 10 poems from the first round will be posted on Akukom’s Social Media platforms( Twitter, Instagram and Facebook). The poem with the highest interaction becomes the People’s winner. The Second Winner will be selected by Akukom’s panel of judges.

RULES

  1. AWPC is just for written poetry
  2. All poems must be originally written by the writer. In a case of plagiarism, the writer is automatically disqualified from the competition.
  3. Any poem added on www.akukom.com after the first round, doesn’t qualify for the competition
  4. Any poem on www.akukom.com without “AWPC” added to the tags is not considered an entry for the competition
  5. One Winner of the competition will be determined by the people while the other, Akukom’s panel of Judges. Winner will be judged based on Creativity,Focus, Development,unity, coherence and Correctness
